Parents, A Big Part Of Counseling

Jul 12, 2021 | Clinical Psychotherpy

In this video counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Shawn Maguire are talking about “Parents a big part of counseling“. The past 18 months have been a challenge for most everybody in some way. No school, online learning, employment coming and going and much uncertainty. Our children are facing issues not seen in this way before. Not to say other generations haven’t face challenges but this is a unique time to be living and raising children.

Children and parents are operating in their lives are in flux. Kids are struggling to learn and parents aren’t sure what to do. This is where when discouraged at the parental level it is time to really focus on what’s important for your family and do what you know is the correct path for your children even if it seems unclear. Mistakes will be made by parents and children and this is when a strong family connection is absolutely vital. Sometimes parents steering the ship can feel a little lost and need some direction along with the kids too in many cases. Seeking help from a licensed professional counselor could make things work better and give you a vision of a path you and your family could be on to get the best out of everyone’s life. Parent’s are a big part of counseling their family lives and leading them to a better tomorrow.
